| Thank you for spending some time with us, Nick. But firstly, why Mallorca?
Being from an Island community I was attracted to spend a family holiday here in 1992, staying at the Hotel Bon Sol in Illetes.
On the other side of the hill was the Royal Bendinat Golf Course, a 9 hole layout back then, which I enjoyed playing. I noticed the attractive apartments on the side of the 1st fairway and made a mental note that this would be a great place to have a second home at some time in the future. Then whilst attending a social function in December 1999, I won the main raffle prize of a weekŽs holiday on Mallorca! Taking the break in May 2000, I played Royal Bendinat again, to discover it had been extended to 18 holes and, of course, on playing the 5th & 6th holes saw the Ses Oliveres development under construction.
What made you finally decide on buying a Bendinat property?
Curiosity led me to meet up with Miguel from the Sales Team, who showed me a show apartment,
and I was immediately impressed with the interior specifications and finishes and the unique Sporrey exterior architectural style. On seeing the plans, the location of a town house overlooking the 5th green was the catalyst for transfoming my 1992 dream into a reality. Apart from the attentive service I was being given, I was excited by the prospect of the nearby Plaza Bendinat with Restaurants and convenient food shopping together with the then planned tunnel access to a main road artery making Palma only a 10 minute car journey. |
How much time do you spend on the island each year?
I intend to spend more time than I do currently, as Palma airport is a better springboard to Europe with more direct flights than Jerset.
|
Do you work from your home in Mallorca?
The impact of Internet broadband and telephone commuinications, means I can remote work in a 'real time' manner. There is a whole new cohort of business and professional people who are incorporating 'lifestyle' into their mode of working - people are commuting from their homes in Mallorca to London, Barcelona and Madrid, leaving on a Monday evening and back on Friday night. It is the future !
